Essentials
The Essentials Collection is an ongoing exploration of the structural soul of the places we inhabit. This collection moves beyond the surface of a landscape to find the essential geometry of a home, a wharf, or a hideaway.
In this work, the "noise" of the everyday is stripped away, leaving only the primary relationship between light and form. Each series within the collection focuses on a single coordinate—a specific address or site—and examines it through varying degrees of atmospheric clarity. It is a disciplined search for what remains when a memory is truly distilled.
Series: Eighty-Two
82 Commercial Street, Provincetown
This inaugural series focuses on a singular historic structure at the edge of the Cape. Through four distinct states of watercolor and ink, the house at Eighty-Two is revealed:
-
Emergence: The structure rising from the salt-air mist.
-
Presence: The tactile relationship between the home and its environment.
-
Abide: The internal soul of the house as a vessel for shelter.
-
Witness: The final, sharp clarity of architectural memory.
Experience the Essential
"In Provincetown, the light is a constant—but the noise is a choice. These works are the choice to see what is essential." — Marshal Walden
