ATMOSPHERIC COLLECTION
Step into the cinematic atmosphere of the Outer Cape with "After Hour Stillness," a captivating architectural study by artist Marshal Walden. This piece depicts the historic waterfront home in the West End made famous as a primary location in the American Horror Story: Red Tide television series.
THE SCENE
Captured during evening with the moon high overhead this iconic two-story Cape Cod shingled home sits prominently along Commercial Street. The composition features a bright moonlit night and a star-filled sky, contrasted by the warm, inviting glow of lights emanating from within the house. By applying the Curbing Art philosophy, the focus remains on the structural form and the hauntingly beautiful coastal atmosphere of this West End landmark.
ARTIST NOTE
With "After Hour Stillness," I wanted to explore the atmospheric soul of a house that has become a piece of modern pop-culture history. In my work, I often focus on the "structural bones" of a building, and this waterfront Cape provided the perfect subject for a study in light and shadow.
By curbing the usual bustle of the West End, I aimed to capture that specific, meditative peace found during the late evening hours in Provincetown. The interplay between the cold moonlight and the warm interior glow represents the "cozy shelter" that defines the home's presence on the harbor.
This limited edition print is an invitation to step into that quiet, cinematic moment and carry a piece of the Outer Cape’s evening grace with you.
